P.E.A.C.E.
P.E.A.C.E. (Peace Education and Community Effort) is a Talbot County grassroots organization promoting peace education, non-violence, reducing prejudice, and diversity appreciation. The organization began in 1996 from a community interest in addressing the issues of violence and racism in our community.
 
List of some past and ongoing programs/projects:
 
    * SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) - teaching the skills of peace and non-violence to high school students (1998-2001).
    * Annual Multicultural Festival, held the first Saturday in May, promoting the cultural diversity of Talbot County and beyond with music, food, community presenters, etc.
    * International Teaching Assistant from Japan was engaged to teach Japanese language, culture, art, music, etc. (2003-2004).
    *Annual co-sponsored of a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. event.
    *Talbot County Peace Week - A week to celebrate and promote peace in our community.
    *Peace Summit Project - Student to student satellite conferencing between local students of students of other countries (2006 - Conference with Bethlehem University, Palestine).
    * Non-violent toy promotions.
    * Silent Vigils for Peace.
 
    P.E.A.C.E. meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Easton High School Media Center at 7pm during the school year and in TBA locations during the summer. Everyone is welcome.
